Join us for a compelling discussion on the Bellevue Passage Museum, a landmark dedicated to telling the story of Bellevue, one of America’s oldest self-sufficient Black waterfront communities.

Dennis and Mary De Shields, practicing physicians in Easton and founders of the museum, will share their vision for preserving Bellevue’s deep history, culture, and significance. Their daughter, Kathryn De Shields-Moon, a fifth-generation Bellevue resident and the Museum’s Director of Programming, will discuss how the museum fosters legacy-building and educational opportunities for future generations.
The museum, housed in the restored John U. Green Store, is positioned near historical landmarks such as the Oxford-Bellevue Ferry, Bellevue Landing Park, and the UNESCO Slave Route Site of Remembrance, offering a profound experience in place-based education.
